details will be circulated soon but all Groups should be aiming to submit their
Census details and pay their Subscriptions by the middle of January, please.
There is no need to wait until a couple of days before the end of January and
early submission will greatly assist the district’s administration. The full
co-operation of all Groups will be gratefully appreciated. Thank you.

applications forms to attend the formal County Presentation of Chief Scouts
Gold, Platinum and Diamond Awards and Queens Scout Awards (see County Website)

Days Out” is an Exhibition for Group Travel Organisers at Event City
(adjacent to the Trafford Centre.) Exhibitors include all the major tourist
attractions in and beyond the North West and it is a source of ideas and

biannual visit to London is currently full but it may be worthwhile to start a

CHALLENGE” – SUNDAY 6 MAY 2012
The
format of this great day out on the hills will be similar to last year. Full

NATIONAL SCOUT COMMUNITY WEEK – W/C 14 MAY 2012
A
National fund raising initiative as detailed in Scouting Magazine. It is hoped
that ALL Scout Groups and the Explorer Units will wish to take full advantage
of this opportunity to raise the profile of Scouting and raise funds. Please
let me know what you intend to do.
COUNTY SKILLS & CHILLS LEADER’S WEEKEND AT BOWLEY –

We are
currently investigating the possibility of taking part in this high profile
National event
The official
commemorative badges may be worn on uniform above the left breast pocket from
now until the end of 2012.
It is also the 2nd BUSHCRAFT SHOW
AND CAMP AT LAKESIDE, WINDERMERE. This public event was well received
last year and details of a Joint District’s Camp will be issued shortly.
COUNTY CUB ADVENTURE DAY & JOINT DISTRICT’S CUB CAMP
– Usually early JUNE 2012
It is envisaged that
County Cub Adventure day will be held in June as usual and we hope that many
Cub Packs will wish to camp together for the weekend
DC’s CHALLENGE – SATURDAY 30 JUNE 2012
The
Joint District’s “District Commissioner’s Challenge” will be a 2 day Expedition
with incidents for Scouts on Saturday 30 June 2012 and a shorter 1 day version
for Cubs on Sunday 1 July 2012. This event will be preceded by a series of,
mainly optional, Monthly Challenges and will be kindly organised by Pendle
Active Support Unit for both Districts in co-operation with the Joint
District’s Team.
